Create visual impact by potscaping
Groupings of containers create a "potscape" of evolving charm
"On the waterfront" shopping list
This grouping is in full sun but would also thrive in semi-shade.
A galvanized steel water trough purchased from the local Co-op store is home to two large pots of taro (Colocasia esculenta ‘Pink China’) planted in heavy garden soil and submerged in the water-filled trough. Six pots of marsh bent grass (Agrostis stolonifera var. palustris) were sunk in the trough as well to provide a trailing green groundcover
and soften the edges of the container.
The trough is flanked by two large urns of ‘Red Star’ cordyline (Cordyline australis ‘Red Star’)
A large pot of blooming agapanthus provides some flower interest.
A container of foxtail fern (Asparagus densiflorus ‘Myersii’) rounds out this striking display of contrasting foliage textures and colours.
