fall bulbs

Postby mango » Mar 16, 2014 9:36 pm

Hello,

Unfortunately I left bulbs that I ran out of time to plant in the garage over this past winter. They seem to be ok but my question to all is can I plant them in the Spring?

It's worth a try! I would pop them in the ground once the soil has thawed enough to dig them in and see what happens!

I suspect it depends on what kind of bulbs they are and how cold they got. If they froze, I would thaw some samples and see if they stay hard, or go mushy. If they stay hard, I'd plant a few in pots indoors now and see if they sprout, then take my cue from there...
Just when you learn how to garden really well, you're too old to do it anymore...
