Gold Capella - the stalk turning brown from top do

Postby jwtingley » Sep 05, 2013 1:24 pm

I have a Schefflera or Gold Capella and it had a mite infestation. That was taken care of by spraying it with soapy water for several days. Then the leaves started turning brown and dropping off. The roots were pot bound. We repotted the plant and cut the roots from up to down to open them up.

The plant stabilized and regained its former strength and new buds appeared at the top of the the stalk. Then the tip turned brown. I cut it off but the brown discoloration carried on and finished off one of the stalks. Now the second stalk is "being attacked" shall we say. I've look all over the Internet but I can't find anyone else with this very same problem (the stalk turning brown from the top down).

Can anyone offer me any advise? It would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

James
